Gulenist Steals Millions of Dollars From Pentagon



ANKARA (Dispatches) – Hurriyet Arslan, who deals with used cars in the U.S. state of New Jersey and is said to have close links to the Gulenist organization, has defrauded the Pentagon of $23.5 million. Arslan – who is accused by the local Turkish community of having links to the organization, according to the news website Forum USA – admitted his role in a conspiracy to defraud the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced on Jan. 6. Arslan, 49, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Joseph H. Rodriguez in the U.S. District Court in Camden to charges of one count of conspiracy to commit mail, wire and bank fraud, one count of bank fraud and one count of money laundering.
