Abdyldaev participates in Central Asia and Visegrad Group meeting in Hungary

Bishkek, Feb. 28, 2018 / Kabar /. The first ministerial meeting in the format "Central Asia and the Visegrad Group" was held in Budapest on Feb. 27, which was organized at the initiative of Peter Siyarto, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary, presiding in the Visegrad Group. Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev took part in the meeting.

Visegrad Group (B4) was established on Oct. 15, 1991. Currently B4 consists of four Central European states: Hungary, Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia.

The agenda of the ministerial meeting included issues of expanding interaction between the two regional groups.

Abdyldaev in his speech noted the historical ties between the countries of the Visegrad Group and Kyrgyzstan, mentioning the successful Intergelpo project at the beginning of the last century, and called for the revival of effective cooperation in trade, tourism, security and the cultural and humanitarian dimension. The Minister noted that the experience of the countries of the Visegrad Four in integration issues can be useful to the countries of Central Asia in order to strengthen interregional dialogue in our region.

Also, the Kyrgyz minister told about the interest in effective cooperation in implementation of high-tech projects in all spheres of the life of the state and society within the framework of the national Taza Koom project.

As a result of the event, a press conference was held with the participation of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Abdyldaev, Hungary Siyarto and Kazakhstan Abdrakhmanov. The foreign ministers noted the positive results of the first meeting in this format, and also expressed their hope for holding regular meetings. The next ministerial meeting in the format "Central Asia and Visegrad Group" is planned to be held in one of the countries of Central Asia.
