Cittadella - a tale of urbanisation and greenturgy with FoE MaltaFriends of the Earth Malta is inviting the public to reflect on future cities, by taking a detailed look at our past and understanding our roots, at an event taking place this Saturday at the Cittadella.

This is the first event from a series of events that Friends of the Earth is producing as part of the Let’s Nature project for a series of walks in Gozo’s Natura 2000 sites.

FoE Malta said that they want to reflect on the theme of urbanisation and the environment – the notion of cities built for people, to bring the human dimension back into our cities and towns.

Annalise Falzon will be taking those present on a detailed tour of the Cittadella, starting from the Visitors’ Centre at 5.30pm all the way through a Nature Walk to appreciate the flora and fauna still present at Cittadella.

It will also be a wonderful opportunity to watch sunset and dusk over the bastions as well as manage a short observation of bats until 8.00pm.

Local creative and puppeteer Sean Briffa will also be joining the event with a street puppet show exploring the theme of urbanisation and the use of spaces in our cities for creative and cultural entertainment.

The event is taking place this Saturday, the 25th of August, starting at 5.30pm from the Visitors’ Centre, it is free of charge however bookings need to be made online here.

Friends of the Earth Malta said that this initiative has been supported by the Ministry for Gozo NGO Assistance Scheme.
