Depression & Storm Currently In Atlantic Area

Two weather systems are currently swirling in the Atlantic Ocean, with the Bermuda Weather Service saying both the systems – Tropical Depression Eleven and Tropical Storm Kirk — are “not a threat to Bermuda at this time.”

As far as Tropical Depression Eleven, the NHC said that “little change in strength is forecast during the next day or two, and the depression is forecast to become a remnant low on Sunday.”

On Tropical Storm Kirk, the NHC states, “Kirk is moving toward the west near 14 mph [22 km/h] and a westward to west northwestward motion at a similar forward speed is expected to continue through tonight. A faster westward motion across the deep tropical Atlantic Ocean is expected Sunday through Tuesday.

“Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph [65 km/h] with higher gusts. Some strengthening is forecast through Sunday, with little change in intensity forecast on Monday and Tuesday.”
