BEIJING: A three-member Supreme Court judges' delegation led by Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri exchanged views with their counterparts in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) here to deepen judicial cooperation on a host of issues including counter terrorism and drug trafficking.
Justice Sikri, along with Justices Adarsh Kumar Goel and Uday Umesh Lalit, took part in the two-day deliberations between chief justices and Supreme Court judges of SCO members countries which ended today.

The SCO, in which China plays an influential role, is also comprised of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India and Pakistan.
India and Pakistan were admitted to the organisation last year.
The meeting of the top judges was part of a series of interactions on various issues being held ahead of the SCO summit to be held in the Chinese city of Qingdao on June 9-10 in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also due to take part.
The judges exchanged views on ways to further deepen judicial cooperation among the SCO member states especially in the fields of digitisation of judicial activities, establishment of 'smart courts', assistance in the fight against terrorism, drug trafficking, money laundering as well as sharing of experience in jurisprudence on elimination of illegally obtained evidences in criminal proceedings, an Indian Embassy press release here said.

The meeting also noted the importance of judicial cooperation aimed at harmonisation of legal norms governing the international sale of goods, it said.
On the sidelines of the meeting of SCO chief justices, the Indian judges' delegation also held talks with chief justice of the Supreme People's Court of China, Zhou Qiang, on the state and prospects of India-China cooperation in the field of judicial interaction, it said.
Justice Sikri and the Indian delegation also visited the China Court Museum, information technology centre of Supreme People's Court of China and the Exhibition of Judicial Cultures of SCO Members in Beijing, the press release said.
