Bloody writing helped authorities nab suspect in deadly robbery, prosecutors say

Allan Walker Jr., 30, was sentenced Friday to 76 years in prison on robbery, murder and other charges.

An Indianapolis man who orchestrated a deadly robbery on the west side was nabbed after a surviving victim wrote the suspect's nickname in blood on a glass door, prosecutors said Friday.

Allan Walker Jr., 30, had arranged for the victim and Kevin Dudley to come to his apartment at the 3400 block of Timbers Edge Drive on Dec. 23, 2016.

Then, under orders from Walker, who was in a wheelchair, two armed men ambushed the victim and Dudley, according to the Marion County prosecutor's office.

The men tied up the pair and robbed them, prosecutors said. They were then told to take the victims to a truck in the parking lot and shoot them.

Dudley was shot in the head and later died. The surviving victim was shot in the shoulder and escaped from the vehicle. When he tried to run for help, one of the armed men chased him and shot him in the head.

The victim later regained consciousness, prosecutors said. He then used his own blood to write Walker's nickname, "Wheelchair Cash," on a glass door.

Investigators found the bloody writing on the door at the crime scene and were able to identify Walker as a suspect, prosecutors said. He was arrested last May by IMPD officers and U.S. Marshals Service agents.

On Friday, he was sentenced to 76 years in prison after a jury convicted him in July of murder, robbery and other charges, court records show.
