IDAHO FALLS — A 21-year-old man is shaken but OK after a swift water rescue team with the Idaho Falls Fire Department pulled him ashore after he fell into the Snake River.

Idaho Falls city spokesman Bud Cranor said around 9:40 a.m. dispatchers received a call of a man who had fallen into the water near 405 River Parkway.

When first responders arrived, they found the man clinging to the rocks and quivering along the edge of the river near the falls. They used a inflatable raft to reach the man and bring him to shore.

He was then taken to the ambulance where he was checked out and determined to be cold but uninjured. He was not taken to the hospital.

Battalion Chief Lance Johnson said this was the second incident in a week where someone has fallen into the river after getting too close to the edge.
